I’m back…

Ok, it’s been a couple of crazy months. I did my last post back in February. Some exciting things have happened in the meantime, like the Troll’s appearances in the popular (and awesome) blog Neatorama. They’re like you and me… except they’re trolls

Well, these are the Trolls. There is not much to reveal about them. They are a middle-class family living in Middletown, USA. Andy works as a paper products salesperson and Peggy works for the local Department of Motor Vehicles. They are married and have two children: Junior and Sally. Junior, by the way, does a lot of the technical work around the show, but he does not appear much on camera. You will see him holding the credit signs.

The Trolls strike back

And so the story goes…

For hundreds of years, trolls and humans lived in ancient yet fragile harmony. Trolls roamed the depth of the forests, while humans left the countryside for the safety of the villages. The only link between both worlds were the storytellers who carried the news from all corners of the world.

 

But with the birth of the modern era, storytellers slowly died out. First, news became a very scripted matter delivered by very serious-looking people. Then, humans invented the ultimate news machine, something they called the Internet. This diabolical invention quickly became the hiding place for some humans with a taste for name-calling, foolish argumentation, and disruptive behavior. These evildoers became themselves known as “trolls”.

That was the last straw for the real trolls, who decided they needed to clean up their name and bring to the Internet their own take on the world of humans. From a small living room in the midst of middle America, two trolls would become the symbols of this revolution. This is the story of Andy and Peggy Troll. This is the story of The Troll Show.

Enter the Trolls

If you have spent more than 15 minutes reading the comments of any blog, you surely know about “Internet trolls”. These are the guys -and girls- who posts absolutely insane messages to create trouble on the forums. This trouble often ends in heated discussion, name-calling, and worse.

These people are a headache for millions of Internet users. So that got me thinking that if there was anyone who should really be mad at these Internet trolls, it would be the original trolls. After all, the original creatures were just happy to roam the forests and scare humans every now and then. Now their names were being cursed at.

So this is how I decided to give the original trolls a voice.

Serious news and Crazy news

I divide the world of news into serious news and crazy news. Serious news deal with global warming, elections, or the stock market. Crazy news deal with UFO’s, super cockroaches, and farting cows. Serious news are important, but crazy news are fun and give you a nice break from your daily routine.
 
As an avid reader of both serious and crazy news, it seemed interesting to me that crazy news were delivered in the same way that serious news. You can read them online, on the papers, or hear them on the radio. Then I thought it’d be interesting if crazy news were told in a crazy way. And that is what I wanted to do.
